Happy Summer New York String Teachers!
Would you like the opportunity to meet one of the greatest school orchestra composers of our day - Soon Hee Newbold? Play through many new compositions for both string and full orchestras of all levels? Create the perfect concert program? Pick up tips and tricks for fostering student motivation? Discover creative ideas for developing artistic habits of mind in your students? Learn about traditional Irish fiddle bowings? Gain tips for traveling between schools?
Come to the 2017 NYSSMA Summer Conference at the Albany Hilton on August 13th, 14th, and 15th!
We will have several fabulous clinics with composer Soon Hee Newbold, a directors orchestra led by Soon Hee Newbold, three new music reading sessions, and clinics offered by several seasoned teachers and collegiate professors.
Bring an instrument, tuck your iPad in the case, and plan to laugh and puzzle through our trials and triumphs as string teachers! College students, WE WANT YOU TOO!!!! This is a fantastic way to make connections that will help you find that dream job.
Whether an ASTA regular, a new member, or non-member, the conference will have something for you to bring to your school in the fall.
There is power in numbers, and the NYASTA summer conference is a chance for string teachers to bond as a community and share the joy of teaching all things strings.
